At Mantel Makers we use the finest quality materials to achieve the best and longest lasting mantels while still maintaining a reasonable price. We offer mantels made entirely out of solid hardwoods, or a cost saving combination of solids and veneers. Because we dress and dimension our own lumber, we can make a mantel out of any wood species available and typically try to maintain an inventory of maple, walnut, cherry, and red oak, and use poplar moldings for our paint grade mantels. We have built several mantels over the years and have gradually honed our construction techniques creating a stronger mantel using a synergistic contruction technique.
